Our 2026 impact

Green Community Grants

We're awarding £350,000 in grants to schools and community groups across the UK and Ireland, helping to create greener, healthier local spaces.

This adds to the £1 million+ invested since 2023, supporting 750+ grassroots projects, from forest schools and community gardens to pocket parks.

2026 applications are now closed. Decisions will be announced by the end of September.

London: Global GenerationSupport for 60 nature-based workshops at Global Generation’s King’s Cross Triangle site will improve wellbeing, reduce isolation, build practical skills and bring communities together.

London: The YoungMinds GardenFollowing its debut at RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2026, our funding will help relocate the YoungMinds Garden to Newham, creating a lasting community space to bring people together through nature.

London: Trees for CitiesSince 2023, Bupa Foundation and Trees for Cities have supported the planting and care of 21,000+ trees across 36 locations. In 2026/27, funding will support projects in Tower Hamlets and Hounslow.

Manchester: City of TreesFor a third year, we're supporting City of Trees to plant and care for 5,000 trees, while enabling more people to take action for a greener, healthier Greater Manchester through Citizen Forester days.

Staines: GroundworkWe're helping restore Staines Moor, a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), boosting biodiversity, improving access and creating opportunities for people to develop new skills.

Brighton: The Living Coast UNESCO BiosphereCreating new wetland habitats in East Brighton Park to reduce flooding risk for 427 homes, support biodiversity and create a greener community space.

Leeds: Trees for CitiesIn 2026/27, we'll support tree planting at Hunslet Moor, Rowland Road Working Men's Club and Tysons Field, helping make Leeds greener, healthier and more resilient.

Cairo, Egypt: ShagrhaThanks to Bupa Healthy Cities, Shagrha will create five mini forests across Cairo, planting 2,500 trees and bringing communities together to build greener, healthier neighbourhoods.

Dublin: IWAISupporting the Inland Waterways Association of Ireland (IWAI) to upgrade its boats, enabling volunteers to keep Dublin’s waterways cleaner, healthier and more accessible for local communities.
